Hi, I'm Sara — a mother, sister, spouse, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and now, a storefront owner who can't stop thinking about others.

Every month, I find myself spending on the people I love and causes that matter — hearing aids, cancer survivor walks, Down syndrome walkathons right here in Duluth, Minnesota. I've coached Special Olympics for years, had the honor of meeting Vikings players, and even appeared in a commercial. I graduated as a CNA, earned a spot in the High School Honor Society, and coached volleyball, basketball, football, track, and tennis.

I grew up in a tiny township in far northern Minnesota — about two hours from the Canadian border — where fresh air, wide open spaces, and small animals were a way of life. I've owned dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles, and frogs, and I wouldn't trade a single muddy moment of it. I've since traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Nevada, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, the Dakotas, New Orleans, Montana, Wyoming, North Carolina, and Missouri — and every place has left something on me.

So what is ModernEdge?

ModernEdge is the idea that today shapes us into remarkably complex, talented people — full of different tastes, passions, and contradictions. Some of us are tech-forward gadget lovers. Some of us are still figuring things out. I'm here for both.

I curate products that are useful, tasteful, thoughtful, and just random enough to make you look twice. Everything is chosen with care and respect, through the eyes of someone who came into herself in the '90s — a little mismatched, a lot genuine, and always evolving.

My goal is simple: find things worth buying, tell you why they matter, and make this a place you actually enjoy coming back to. Our inventory changes regularly because our merchants, suppliers, and fulfillment partners are always bringing something new.
